A separate sheet has the two border patterns. It is an envelope-style sleeve that holds a 16-page booklet with excellent instructions (many from the "New Applique Sampler" book) that describes and shows in photos how to prepare, applique and finish the quilt.
I use their book "The New Applique Sampler" when I teach needleturn applique, because it includes fantastic photos and detailed instructions for those learning to applique. I am a huge Piece O' Cake fan, and have purchased just about every book and pattern they have published.
This is not a book in the traditional sense. I think it is the best technique book out there on needleturn applique."Aunt Millie's Garden" is the latest spectacular quilt by Piece O' Cake's Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins.
It is twelve symmetrical flower designs (that finish to 14" square) done in bright colors on red backgrounds, with more flower designs in the borders. There are also six separate pattern sheets (printed on both sides) with full-sized diagrams for each block.
I really like this presentation, because it allows you to work from the patterns without struggling with a bound book.
The designs are simple enough and would be a great quilt made from these blocks. Loved the designs in this packet. Expected a book but the packet was great with the blocks all printed out. Great addition to my library. Gladys
There is plenty of piecing and applique instruction included for the quilter who has had any experience at all. Piece O'Cake is brilliant. This is so much better than another book because it focuses on the patterns without all of the instructional rehash. Frankly, a beginner probably shouldn't be trying these patterns as it could be quite overwhelming. Thank you for another wonderful design, Piece O'Cake Designs.
